What do Jennifer Aniston, health fanatics, ordinary families and busy business executives have in common?  They are all customers of Sunfare, an innovative Los Angeles-based food delivery company that recently expanded to the Phoenix / Scottsdale market.

This highly publicized company delivers customized, healthy, gourmet meals to the doorsteps of customers, including celebrities, busy business executives and even regular Joes like you and I willing to spend between $10 - $40.00 per day on food.

Enthusiastic clients include such well known names as Kristin Davis, Jennifer Lopez, Tiffani Thiessen, Charlie Sheen, Anne Archer, Denise Richards, Rob Reiner, Jennifer Aniston and Ryan Seacrest – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  The popular meals are popping up everywhere from movie sets to homes and business suites, as users carry Sunfare’s stylishly hip signature meal bags wherever they go.

Now, Arizonans can partake in what Hollywood’s elite have enjoyed for the past eight years: an easy, portable way to eat right.  Sunfare’s convenient meals are customized to match each user’s nutritional needs and food preferences.  Service includes from one to three meals and up to three snacks daily selected from four nutrition programs: the Zone, Vegetarian Zone, Sunfare High Protein and Sunfare Family Dinners.

Although costs vary depending on which nutrition program and delivery schedule users select, the company’s most popular program, the Zone, provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks daily for $39.95 per day if purchased in bulk (on a monthly basis).  Sunfare’s family style dinners, designed to accommodate the busy lifestyles of today’s families, include a main entrée and four side dishes, and start as low as $29.95 per day.

Made from top quality ingredients, Sunfare meals are home-delivered by 7 a.m. everyday of the week.  “All our food is made fresh every day by our trained chefs,” Sunfare’s director of communications John Kurtz says.  “Both of our facilities have full kitchens, and each location has an executive chef and sous chef, along with any number of cooks.  We receive meat and produce delivered fresh everyday and use everything that comes in THAT DAY, so our meals are always fresh.  In terms of taste, we serve restaurant quality meals.  Our food is full of flavor, and presentation is comparable to what you would find at a restaurant.”

Users agree.  Endorsements include such positive affirmations as the following by American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest: “As my schedule becomes more and more hectic, I rely on Sunfare to keep my healthy.  The convenience of the service is amazing – every meal delivered right to my doorstep – and the food is truly delicious.  I highly recommend the pork chops and low-carb pizza!”

Director Rob Reiner is another big fan of the company.  “There is no way I could have lost over 50 pounds without Sunfare,” he says.  “The food is terrific, there’s lots of variety and it keeps my blood sugar balanced all day.  And, most important, in over 10 months, I’ve never received a bad piece of fruit.  Astounding!”

Originating in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1997, Sunfare founders and best friends John Stewart and Carl Ferro saw a need for high quality, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of busy people wanting to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  With two major studio heads as their first clients, and Sandra Bullock as their sixth, they gained momentum quickly and haven’t looked back since.

Their success has put them at the top of the home-delivery segment of the multi-billion-dollar nutrition industry.  With more than 850 California customers and a growing base of over 100 Arizonan customers, Sunfare has a winning formula for success.   “We believe that if we can put meals in your refrigerator that you want to eat, then you will eat those meals and get the results you’re looking for,” co-owner Stewart says.

“We came to the Phoenix market for a number of reasons,” Kurtz adds.  “Proximity was a key issue for us.  This being our fist expansion, we needed a location we could get to easily.  It was a huge learning process for us to replicate our operation some place new and being only an hour away by plane or five-and-a-half hours by car was paramount.  We also saw the Phoenix market as being closely related to the Southern California market – healthy people and sunny weather year-round.  It felt like the perfect next step for Sunfare.”

“Right now we’re serving around 130 people a day in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, including some high-profile professionals, doctors, trainers, and athletes.  Customers run the gamut from professionals to stay-at-home parents.  Our goal is to have something we can offer each of these people so we can broaden our appeal and sell the concept of healthy meal delivery as a viable option for all types of lifestyles.”

“I don’t think there’s any big secret to our success,” Kurtz adds.  “It’s always been about listening go our clients, providing them with exceptional customer service and making sure that our product meets a standard of excellence that they find acceptable.”
