CUSTOM CATERER TO STARS OPENING VALLEY SERVICE

A company known for feeding Hollywood’s hottest personalities is expanding its healthful meal delivery service to the Valley.

In October, Los Angeles-based Sunfare will offer Valley residents the customized meals it has cooked for such clients as Charlie Sheen, Sandra Bullock, Rob Reiner, Anne Archer and Ryan Seacrest.

The Phoenix commissary is Sunfare’s first outside Los Angeles, where the company cooks breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner for 700 clients daily.

John Stewart, who founded the company with friend Carl ferrro, plans to target Phoenix-area professionals who are too busy to cook but want healthful or specific-diet meals.

“Our theory is that someday the kitchen will be obsolete. People just do not have time to cook,” Stewart said.

The company offers six meal programs, including the diet outlined by Dr. Barry Sears in his bestselling book The Zone. The other five are Vegetarian Zone, Sunfare High Protein, Sunfare Select, Vegetarian Select and Sunfare Family.

“The family meal is what we describe as going to Grandma’s house for dinner. We want to encourage families to eat together,” he said.

The meals, which will be made fresh daily in the Phoenix kitchen, are delivered to clients’ homes by 7 a.m. daily. Meals can be customized to accommodate personal tastes. Sunfare chefs, for instance, once cut stems off and charred the edges of broccoli to please one client.
